Location: Rock Springs, WY
The U.S. Bureau of Land Management approached WH Smith & Associates with a proposal to fly a collapsed irrigation diversion and control structure on Bitter Creek to provide an overview of the state of the structure and the extent of the surrounding scour and erosion. During the course of one morning, ground control targets were set and surveyed and the site was flown, along with approximately 21 acres of the surrounding area upstream and downstream. The BLM was provided with orthophoto mosaics at 1 inch per pixel resolution to augment the survey data they had already collected.
